Mouse Extermination & Control

Mouse Control

Complete Pest Control provide a professional mouse extermination & mouse control service for business customers & individuals alike. There are several species of mice found in the UK which include:-

House Mouse

Mice ExterminationThis is by far the most common mouse found in the UK, the nearly always live near humans and eat just about anything. House mice can transmit diseases, and can damage food and food packaging. Some of the diseases the house mouse carries include Leptospirosis, Murine typhus, Rickettsialpox, Tularemia, lymphocytic choriomeningitis and potentially Bubonic plague many of which can be deadly. House mice can also cause substantial damage when feeding on grain or chewing on wires which has the potential to cause fires.

It is thought that house mice were the primary reason for the taming of the domestic cat.

Harvest Mouse

Mouse ExterminationThe Harvest Mouse is the smallest mouse in England and is mainly found in Central & South of England. It can be found in wheat fields, but it is more likely to be found in hay meadows and reed beds, as well as in bramble patches, grassy hedgerows, roadside verges and in tall grassy vegetation.

Wood Mouse

Wood Mouse ExterminationThe wood mouse is a fairly common mouse, closely related to the yellow-necked mouse but differs in that it has no band of yellow fur around the neck, has slightly smaller ears, and is usually slightly smaller overal. It is found across most of Europe and is a very common and widespread species, is commensal with people and is sometimes considered a pest. Other common names are long-tailed field mouse, field mouse, common field mouse, and European wood mouse.

Yellow Necked Mouse

Yellownecked Mouse ControlThe Yellow-necked Mouse is a close relative of the wood mouse and is often confused, the way of telling the difference is the band of yellow fur around the neck and the slightly larger ears and overall sizel. It is a critical host in the maintenance of tick-borne encephalitis.

Dormouse or Hazel Mouse

Dormouse ControlThe hazel dormouse or common dormouse is the only dormouse native to the British Isles, and as such is generally referred to simply as the dormouse in British sources, it usually hibernates for most of the year and is a protected species - the chances are quite probable if you have a mouse infestation, it is almost certainly not down this little critter..

The hazel dormouse has golden-brown fur and large, black eyes. It is a nocturnal creature and spends most of its waking hours among the branches of trees looking for food. It will make long detours rather than come down to the ground and expose itself to danger.

Disease & Damage

Mice are extremely adaptable and change their behaviour patters to fit in withtheir environment. House mice eat just about anything including human food, pet food and even their own faeces which often carries the bacterium that causes food poisoning (salmonellosis). People are more tolerant of mice than rats

Do not think of mice as the nicer version of rats, they can carry the same diseases as rats and are much more likely to transmit these diseases due to their bolder and more inquisitive natuire. In much the same way as rats, their constant gnawing causes structural damage to properties and damage to wires is a very real fire risk.

The humble mouse is considered one of the most troublesome and economically important pests in the UK.
